The filtration and disinfection cartridges are mounted within a sturdy but easily transportable corrosion proof frame. Cartridge housings are made in tough reinforced polypropylene (US FDA approved) and all connections are made with PVC fittings, approved for potable water.
In standard form, JWP purifiers are fitted with a high performance hand pump and deliver 4 litres of clean, safe drinking water per minute. As options, an electric pump can be fitter in place of the hand pump or, in the dual form, both electric and hand pumps are fitted. Electric pumps are available to operate from both AC and DC supplies, enabling power from field generators or vehicles to be utilised.
JWP purifers are available with a rated capacity of
12,000 or 20,000 litres, although this will be dependent upon the clarity of the input water. At the point of exhaustion it is a simple and quick operation to fit a set of replacement cartridges. JWP purifiers are fitted with a totalising water meter to monitor thoroughput(optional).
JWP units have accreditation for use by NATO Forces.
An Outlet Filter, Type OF8, is available as an optional item of equipment. This fileter is used to remove the residual iodine from the water treated by JWP purifiers as a separate stage of treatment. the Outlet Filter is provided with its own diaphragm pump mounted on a strong, durable frame. This filter operates at 4 litres per min. and has a capacity to treat 8,000 litres of water between cartridge changes. Type OF8 filter measures 33 x 24 x 48 cms and weighs 5 kgs. |
